Many times
the world makes jokes about how it will be OK to go there, because all their
friends will be present and they can continue to party for eternity in a
sinful manner. If that is so, the Bible certainly does not support that
scenario. 2 Peter 2:6 says, "And
turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with
an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live
ungodly." Mark 9:43 discusses how long
the burning sensation will last: "if
thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life
maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never
shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is
not quenched." I does not sound like a
place where you would want to spend eternity.
Hell,
there is a way to avoid it.
God has provided
a way for us to stay out of this hostile place, called Hell. In
2 Peter 3:9 the Bible tells us of His intent, "The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but
is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that
all should come to repentance." God does NOT want you
to go to Hell... But, you must come to Him in repentance.
We all deserve to go to Hell. In Romans 3:23
it says, "For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God;" Then look at Romans
6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
What did Jesus do to so that we can repent and receive the gift of Eternal
Life? Here is what happened as found in Romans 5:8 "But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that , while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us." After three days in the grave
He came back to life and made a promise to all who accept the gift He
provided. John 14:2,3: "I go
to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I
will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye
may be also."By trusting
in Jesus Christ we have a future away from the eternal flames.
Hell,
what can I do be saved from it?.
If you do not want to spend eternity in the place
that God designed for Satan and his followers, here is what you have to
do.
1. Realize
that you are a sinner and deserve to go to Hell. "all
have sinned." Romans 3:23 "wages
of sin is death" Romans 6:23a
2. Recognize
what God did for you. "while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"
Romans 5:8
3. Call out
to God. "if
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved." Romans 10:13
WHAT
TO PRAY:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I
believe
that Jesus Christ died for my sin. I now trust Him as Saviour and will
follow
Him as the Lord of my Life." .
Here is how Paul felt about his salvation Galations 2:20 "I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me"
